Happy Halloween!
It’s been a month since my last update, but it was a crazy month, so what do you expect.
My sister Patricia was married again the week after Thanksgiving and we flew down for that. It was Jonathan’s first plane ride! He took that in stride. No big deal for him.
At the wedding, Jonathan was the ring bearer and did a wonderful job. I was asked (and Lord only knows why since I could have been really, uh, funny) to MC the wedding. Only two weeks prior, I had been asked to MC our friends, Lonnie and Michelle’s wedding. That was a good warm up for Patricia’s. So here we were at a wedding and I finally get to meet her groom, for the first time. I was quite surprised at his rather short nature. I guess the PC term today is ‘vertically challenged.’ Having said that, however, he did turn out to be a nice guy and a good fit for my sister.
So after that trip was over we had some work around the house and then another full week. I was asked to help out at the Springs Church conference. I was doing remote focus control for the Steadicam operator. Loads of fun.
And then tonight was Halloween! We had Jonathan dressed up as a teddy bear. Looked pretty cute. He went out with Lisa and his Oma and I stayed at home giving out candy.
We didn’t have enough! I counted around 180 kids in the hour between 6:30 and 7:30 when I had to close up shop. At one point, I had to start rationing so I’d have some for the little ones.
So that was October in a real nutshell. I’ve got some pictures uploaded in our gallery under the September & October folder.
