Wow, it’s been a while since there’s been an update. That’s because we’ve been a wee bit busy around here. Leading up to last weekend (the 22nd) we’ve been in constant ‘go’ mode as we were getting ready for The Amazing Car Rally. That day went off great. We had a lot of fun and more importantly, the teams had a lot of fun. Click the link to head to the website to read a few of the stories.
After the Car Rally was over, we pretty much crashed. I was running on adrenaline for a couple of weeks and when it finally ended and my body could relax, I caught a cold. It started hitting me about 2 hours after we wrapped up for the evening. No surprise there, really. After a day and a half off of work, I was feeling much better. It’s great when a good day of rest can knock out a cold.
Tonight we were at Michelle and Lonnie Smetana’s wedding. I was asked to MC the evening and had a lot of fun doing that. I considered it a warm up for two weeks from now when I do it all again for my sister’s wedding.

We had a brief afternoon down at the Forks today. Did one cache, Lisa spotted it! Way to go! Found one of those faceboards for pictures. As you can see, the kids were game for pictures.
Wow, hard to believe that the summer’s over now. One more day off and then it’s back to work. Quite weird actually. It’ll be good to get into a routine again. Well, nothing will be routine for a bit. We still have the Car Rally coming up in September, followed by two weddings, one here in Winnipeg and Patricia’s in Trenton. Interestingly, I’ll be MC for both.
The big news that ended our summer on a big note was winning the grand prize for a local radio station’s summer promotion. A $10,000 home makeover! The phone call came in just after I dropped off Lisa at work in the morning. I had to park the car so I could talk safely on the cell phone. Now every time I turn on the radio, I keep hearing my voice in my head. I have to check to see if it’s those voices returning again, but it turns out they’re just replaying the conversation. What’s that? Oh, my voices just told me that we’re doing the bathroom first.
